Luke Penner biography
Luke Penner, hailing from Steinbach, Manitoba, is an accomplished aerobatic pilot known for his precision, skill, and showmanship. With over two decades of experience as a pilot, Luke has spent most of his flying life as a class 1 flight instructor, class 1 aerobatic instructor, and pilot examiner for all licences and ratings. Luke has logged over 12,500 flying hours across more than one hundred types of aircraft, with 2,500 hours dedicated to aerobatics.
Luke has consistently reached the podium at aerobatic competitions over the past decade across North America. A Canadian national champion, multiple times over, he proudly captained Team Canada at the 2023 World Advanced Aerobatic Championship in Las Vegas, representing Canadian excellence on the global stage. His most recent achievement is becoming Manitoba’s first Unlimited level competition pilot, and after a rigorous training season, became the 2024 Canadian Unlimited Aerobatic Champion.
One of the things that drives Luke to push himself as far as possible as a pilot is to take those experiences and pass them on to the pilots he trains. One of the greatest benefits of undertaking aerobatic training is the confidence you gain in yourself as a pilot, and in the machine that you are flying. There is no substitute for competency and aerobatic training is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding ways to become a safer pilot. This is truly where Luke’s passion lies and he is excited to share his journey.
