“Open your heart to dreams” – Dreams Take Flight fundraiser

November 27, 2024 @ 7:00 pm 10:00 pm

In 1989, several Air Canada employees in Toronto planned the trip of a lifetime. They flew 70 special needs children on a DC-9 aircraft to Walt Disney World in Florida.

By 1997, the Dreams Take Flight charity had expanded across Canada and since then, the organization has provided this life-changing experience to over 3,000 children.

For a very long and exciting day, deserving children live an adventure in a world-renowned theme park in California or Florida. All expenses paid—thanks to sponsors and volunteers.

When they land back home, their minds are stretched to new dimensions. They see new possibilities.

John Sauder will host the evening at the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada and French Way Café will set up food stations throughout the museum. The evening will also include music, dancing, a live auction, a rainbow auction, and photos among the aircraft.

Tickets are $150 per person and can be purchased at the French Way Cafe at 238 Lilac St in Winnipeg or by emailing winnipeg@dreamstakeflight.ca.

Dreams Take Flight stretches children’s minds. As poet Oliver Wendell Holmes wrote, “One’s mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions.”
