SPECIAL PHOTOGRAPHY NIGHT PRESENTATION

Guest Speaker: RCAF Imagery Technician, Corporal Connor Buchanan
Talk time: 7:00 p.m.

As part of Aviation Imaging Night, visitors are invited to hear from Corporal Connor Buchanan, an Imagery Technician with the Royal Canadian Air Force, who will share insights into their work documenting aviation and military operations through photography and video.

Cpl. Buchanan’s experience includes combat camera operations, formal military portraiture, historic documentation, and videography. He has recently returned from Latvia, where he was serving under NATO’s Multinational Brigade as part of Operation Reassurance, focusing primarily on combat camera and videography. His work has also taken him to Churchill and other northern regions of Manitoba in support of RCAF operations.

Often best described as a photojournalist specializing in capturing military history, Cpl. Buchanan will provide insight into how Imagery Technician’s support operations, preserve history, and tell the stories behind aviation and service.

ELIGIBILITY

Eligible participants may submit up to two (2) photographs or videos taken at the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada on or before the evening of February 21st, 2026, during Aviation Imaging Night 2026.

Entries may be submitted at the link below until 11:59 pm CST on Sunday, March 9, 2026.

HOW TO ENTER

Must be 18 years or older at the time of entry. Contest is open to Canadian residents, excluding Quebec, who have previously visited the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada OR who visit on February 21, 2026. Employees of the Museum and immediate family or household members are not eligible to win.

Submitted photo files must:

Include the first and last names of the photo or video creators
Photos should be at least 2 MB

ROYAL AVIATION MUSEUM OF WESTERN CANADA IMAGING CONTEST 2026

EVENT DATE
The Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada Imaging Contest is connected to an after-hours Aviation Imaging Night held on February 21, 2026.
CATEGORIES
Participants are invited to submit still images or video of aircraft, exhibitions, or architectural features within the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada.
Entry limit: Two (2) entries per person.

ELIGIBILITY
The Contest is open to individuals who meet all of the following criteria:
• Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry
• Must be a Canadian resident, excluding Quebec
• Must have previously visited the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada or attended Aviation Imaging Night on February 21, 2026.
Employees of the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada, as well as their immediate family or household members, are not eligible to win.

HOW TO ENTER
Eligible participants may submit up to four (4) total entries, consisting of any combination of still photographs and/or video files, with a maximum of two (2) entries per category.
All submitted material must be captured at the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada on or before February 21, 2026
Entries must be submitted via the official Contest submission link no later than 11:59 p.m. CST on March 11, 2026.
ENTRY SPECIFICATIONS
All submitted files must:
• Clearly include the participant’s first and last name
• Be original work created by the entrant

DISCLAIMERS
By participating, entrants agree to these Official Contest Rules and to the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. Entrants agree not to hold the Sponsor, its partners, employees, or agents liable for any claims arising from participation in the Contest.
Personal information collected will be used solely for the purpose of administering the Contest. No purchase is necessary. The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason.
COPYRIGHT AND PERMISSIONS
Entrants retain full ownership of their submitted still images and video. By submitting an entry, entrants grant the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada the following non-exclusive permissions:
• Permission to publish submitted material on the Museum’s website, social media channels, print materials, and other media for the purposes of marketing, promotion, and interpretation. Credit will be provided wherever possible.
• Permission to share submitted material with Museum partners for the purposes of promoting the Museum and/or tourism in Winnipeg or Manitoba.

WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
Winning entries will be selected from all eligible submissions by a judging process that may include a panel of Museum employees and/or public voting conducted via social media.
The Contest closes on March 11, 2026
Winners will be announced on March 23, 2026
Selected entrants will be notified by email and must respond within two (2) business days of notification. Prior to being declared a winner, selected entrants must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question and complete any required release documentation within the timeframe specified by the Museum.
If a selected entrant cannot be contacted, fails to respond within the required period, or does not complete the required documentation, the entry may be disqualified and an alternate winner selected.
