The Out of the Blue Gala, the Royal Aviation Museum’s annual fundraising event was spearheaded by Tannis Richardson 30 years ago and was a highlight of Winnipeg’s social calendar. Building on that success, the fundraiser is relaunching in 2023 as the Preservation Ball and we are pleased to be honouring Tannis Richardson as this year’s Honourary Patron to recognize her years of dedication and passion for the museum.
One of Winnipeg’s most unique attractions, the new 86,000-square-foot Museum is the perfect venue for this must-attend event. Set beneath the wings of our historic aircraft, with a theme inspired by early aviation in Canada, the event is sure to impress.

The inaugural Ball highlighted the conservation of one of the Museum’s marquee attractions, the Fokker Universal (G-CAJD), also known as ‘The Ghost of Charron Lake.’ The story of how it came into the RAMWC’s collection is one of survival, heroism, and decades of persistence.
