S.T.E.M. Summer Camps 2025

This year the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada is expanding it’s summer offerings with S.T.E.M. camps in both half-day and week long options, find out more below.

Looking for a summer activity adventure that combines fun, learning, and excitement? Our summer camps at the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada offer incredible experiences where kids can explore the wonders of flight while engaging in hands-on STEM activities. From engineering challenges to interactive exhibits, young aviators will dive into the world of aerospace, problem-solving, and teamwork, all while having a blast! 

COST

Half Day Programs – $25 ($20 for members) 

Full Week Programs – $250 ($235 for members)

SAVE THE SPACE CHIP

Monday July 7 – Half day (10 am-12:30 pm)


SOS! After a technical failure on the Space-Chip Delivery Express, precious, delicious cargo is stuck in the cosmos! Can you build a new craft to deliver one fragile snack to its destination using only spare parts? As head engineer, your challenge is to create a spacecraft that is lightweight and efficient, yet durable enough to complete the mission. The planet is depending on you! This mission is best suited for ages 8-12.

HOOPS, THERE IT IS

Monday July 28 – Half day (10 am-12:30 pm)

Ah, nothing like vacation! That’s what Hobbs the Pilot Bear thought when he flew out to an island for a fishing trip. But- oh no! His bush plane has run out of gas, and Hobbs needs to fly home! There must be a way to get airborne again, but he needs your help. Design and construct an aircraft relying entirely on the forces of flight that will fly Hobbs home – without an engine! This mission is best suited for ages 6-8.

WOMEN IN STEAM

July 14-18 (10 am-4 pm)

Flying far above the glass ceiling: we’re celebrating women in STEAM! Time-travel through history for a week-long STEAM camp for kids, learning about the barrier-breaking women who invent, inspire, and propel us all forward from then to now! From art to aviation to engineering to astronomy, time-travelers can expect a new topic of STEAM every day alongside experiments, crafts, and games. Women in STEAM runs from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm from July 14, 2025  to July 18, 2025, and is best suited for ages 8-12. Everyone is welcome!

JUNIOR STEM-GINEERS

August 11-15 (10 am-4 pm)  

Eureka! Put on your thinking caps, pilot hats, and lab coats: it’s a whole week full of experiments, exhibits, and excitement at the RAMWC’s week-long STEM camp for kids! Future inventors, innovators, and engineers can expect a new topic of STEM every day, from binary code to designing planes to exploring cockpits and more. Junior STEMgineers runs from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm from August 11, 2025 to August 15, 2025, and is best suited for ages 8-12.
