Northern Lights Petroleum is an Indigenous-owned and operated fuel distribution and logistics company based in Manitoba that serves Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities across Canada.
Indigenous communities helped pilots navigate and build relationships throughout the North and provided leadership and significant contributions to developing the region’s aviation industry and resource development. Many bush pilots depended on respectful relationships with Indigenous communities for transporting and caching of aviation fuel and traditional knowledge to land and take off from northern waterways safely. Over time, Indigenous communities adapted aviation to their ways of life and built strong relationships as bush pilots, guides, and northern airline owners throughout the North.
We are proud to support the museum because of its commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and the Indigenous perspective of aviation history.
