May 4 @ 10:00 am – 9:00 pm
Join us on May 4th as we explore aviation’s influence on the world of science fiction.
The term ‘star fighter’ has become part of the lexicon of science fiction and there’s speculation the name was inspired by the iconic aircraft the F104 Starfighter (or CF-104 Starfighter as it’s known in Canada).
On May 4, meet Cold War-era Starfighter pilot Merv Kuruluk and owner Steve Pajot to hear firsthand accounts of flying and restoring this aircraft. Then, enjoy a special tour designed by science fiction aficionado—and RAMWC graphic designer—James Mitchell. During the tour, your guide will draw connections between our aircraft and popular film franchises, as well as the lives of their creators.
At our special evening event, visitors can have their pictures taken with Darth Vader, Mandalorians, and stormtroopers courtesy of the 501st Legion, Mando Mercs, and Droid Builders. Our science fiction-themed tour will be delivered again and afterward, visitors will experience a live lightsaber demonstration by the River City Jedis.
